C.N. Blue and F.T. Island will hold a joint concert in Los Angeles!

Through CJ E&M‘s K-Pop concert brand, “M-Live,” C.N. Blue and F.T. Island will hold their joint concert at the Nokia Theater on March 9.

This is the first time that C.N. Blue and F.T. Island will hold a joint concert together, therefore, the expectations are very high.

The Nokia Theater, where famous artists like Lady GagaKelly Clarkson, the Eagles, and Duran Duran, have performed, holds more than 7,000 seats, which will be filled with thousands of C.N. Blue and F.T. Island fans.

As two of the most well-known K-Pop artists out there, this concert can be looked forward to.

In 2007, F.T. Island was one of the first rock bands to debut in the music industry and was soon able to claim the #1 position on various music charts, nicknamed as the “Rookie Monster.” After landing first place on the Japanese Oricon Chart and ranking #1 on music charts in several countries in Asia, F.T. Island became known as one of the top Asian artists in the world.

Even before their official debut in Korea, C.N. Blue held more than 100 concerts in Japan. Within five days after the release of their first album, they were able to claim the #1 spot on both music charts and album sales. Furthermore, C.N. Blue was able to make their name as one of the best-known artists through their Asia Tour. After selling more than 10,000 copies of their Japanese debut album, C.N. Blue was able to be recognized at the Golden Disk Awards, as well.

Not only are the two groups skilled in music, they’ve shown their various talents through dramas and movies, and their roles as MCs on music programs.

C.N. Blue and F.T. Island’s label FNC Music revealed, “Starting off with this concert in L.A, we plan to look more closely at their overseas expansions into Europe. We hope to show a good concert for the K-Pop fans.”

“Depending on how this concert turns out, we will start to actively support their expansions overseas,” promised CJ E&M.

FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki Caught Holding Unknown Woman’s Hand

FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki Caught Holding Unknown Woman's Hand

On January 20, a photo of FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki holding the hand of an unknown woman was posted online. In the photo titled “FT Island’s Lee Hong Ki on a date with a regular girl??” the star singer is seen casually walking the streets without being aware of the photo taken. After what looks like a leaked photo was posted, it went viral online causing many fans to speculate on the identity of the woman.

Netizens commented, “She looks like Lee Hong Ki’s girlfriend,” “Who’s that girl?” and “They look close to each other.”

However, it turns out the photo was taken during FT Island’s recent music video recording. Shortly after the photo was leaked, FNC Music, FT Island’s management agency, released a statement saying, “The photo was taken at the filming of FT Island’s music video for their new album. The woman next to Lee Hong Ki is not his girlfriend, but the female lead in the MV.”

FT Island will release their new album in Korea next February, resuming their Korean promotions. They are currently preparing for their comeback, filming the MV for the title track. But is it just me who thinks that photo looks too natural?

Who is leading the votes for the ’26th Golden Disk Awards’ Popularity Award?

24 Dec

There are only two days left until the online votes for the Popularity Award of the ‘26th Golden Disk Awards‘ closes, and the results are slowly starting to take shape.

Voting opened up on November 28th, and since then, over 2 million netizens have participated. Right from the start, Super Junior led the poll at the top, and has never once let go of their position since then. SNSD is right behind them but the chance of a reversal with two days left is highly unlikely.

Currently, Super Junior is leading with 47% with 800,000 votes, while SNSD is at 43% with 740,000 votes. Following behind are f(x)F.T. Island, CNBLUE, B2ST, INFINITE, KARA, and MBLAQ.

In the votes for the Japanese site, ‘Golden Disk Japan‘, Jay Park is at the lead, with Super Junior at a close second. Girl groups like SNSD, f(x), and 2NE1 are also showing fierce competition, as well as Supernova, who have been earning widespread attention in Japan.

On the voting homepage set up for worldwide/international netizens, Super Junior and Jay Park are neck to neck, both standing at an impressive 1.5 million votes. Their ranking changes by the hour while SNSD is right behind them, followed by B2ST, INFINITE, 2NE1, and KARA.

A representative of the awards show stated, “There have been more visitors to the site with two days left until the polls close now. The votes for the international and Korean polls are so close, we’re going to have to monitor them to the very last second.”

As the Popularity Award relies entirely on fan power, the votes are ones fans won’t want to miss out on. Polls will close at 12 a.m. on December 26th, and the winner will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Kyocera Dome in Japan on January 11th and 12th, 2012.
