FNC Entertainment’s first female singer Juniel successfully pulled through her showcase and television debut.
Juniel held her debut showcase on June 7, and on the same day performed on Mnet’s M Countdown. She sang the first single cut Illa Illa from her first mini album My First June, and also performed Fool (Stupid), her duet with labelmate Jung Yong Hwa.
In the showcase, she was especially lauded after she performed her self-penned song Ready Go! with her unique voice while playing the guitar.
Juniel has been gathering interest for her skills as a singer/songwriter and her cute looks ever since she first stepped up in front of the public.
She even managed to stay on the higher ranks of portal site keyword searches for a long time, announcing the debut of a big diva. She was nicknamed ‘the next IU’, and is also being called the rival of this year’s big rookie Ailee.
Juniel plans to continue her promotions with debut performances in the main channels through KBS2’s Music Bank, MBC’s Music Core and SBS’ Inkigayo.
The singer first became known in Japan in 2010, when she won the audition program Niji Iro Supernova. She officially debuted with her mini album Ready Go!, made a major debut in November 2011 with her single Forever and released her second single Sakura in February this year.
